Bobcats Climb 11 Spots on Day Two of Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

Texas State had the third-best team score on Tuesday

HENDERSON, Nev. – Texas State men's golf was the biggest riser on day two of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Tuesday as the Bobcats climbed 11 spots after shooting 6-under (282) in round two of the three-day tournament at Reflection Bay Golf Club (Par 72, 7,204 yards).
 
The 6-under 282 by the Bobcats was the third-best team score in the 22-team field on Tuesday. It left them in a tie with North Texas for seventh on the team leaderboard with an even-par 576 (294-282) entering Wednesday's final round.
 
All four of Texas State's scorers in the second round shot even-par or better, led by Marcelo Garza with a 2-under 70. Garza carded five birdies and two bogeys and sits in a tie for 59th in the tournament with a 2-over 146.
 
Tom Roed Karlsen leads all Bobcats on the leaderboard as he sits in a tie for 17th with a 2-under 142 for the tournament. He shot two-under 70 on Tuesday. Karlsen is four shots off the lead.
 
Jack Burke was 2-under 70 in the second round to improve his tournament score to 1-under 143 (73-70). He enters the final day tied for 24th.
 
Sakke Siltala registered an even-par 72 in the second round to help the Bobcats card the 6-under as a team.
 
Arkansas State, which is hosting the tournament, leads the field with a 10-under 566. The Red Wolves had the best team round on Tuesday with a nine-under.
 
The final round is set for Wednesday morning.
