Fields Inks with Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Joining the Texas State men's basketball team in its 2025 signing class is Robert Fields, announced by head coach Terrence Johnson on Thursday.

"Robert gives us a skilled and versatile front court player. His athleticism, skill and feel allows us to take advantage of transition opportunities and exploit mismatches in the half court," said Johnson. "Robert is a competitor! Robert comes from a great family and they have helped him cultivate a relentless work ethic and competitive spirt that he will bring from day one."

Fields is a 6-foot, 9-inch forward from Baltimore, Maryland and will graduate from the McDonogh School. Last season saw him average 17 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks per game while earning all-conference honors. He helped lead the Lakers to a 21-8 record.

The future Bobcat choose to come to San Marcos over offers from Albany, American, Binghamton, Fairfield, Purdue Fort Wayne, Quinnipiac, UMBC and Wofford.
