SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball returns to Strahan Arena in for the first time this season on Nov. 9 for a tangle with in-state foe Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. Tip-off will be at 2 pm.
 
This game will be part of Opening Weekend for the Bobcats which will include poster giveaways and home game autographs. Fans are encouraged to wear maroon. Tickets can be purchased at txst.com/tickets or fans can watch on ESPN+.
 
SERIES HISTORY

• Texas State has a 16-8 lead all-time in the series history.
• In 2023 the two teams met in Corpus Christi and the Bobcats lost 60-52. 

 
HISTORY IN HOME OPENERS

• Texas State has not lost a home opener since 2003 when the Bobcats fell 85-70 to Montana State.
• Head coach Zenarae Antoine is 13-0 in home openers in her career at Texas State.

 
MEET THE ROSTER

• The Freshmen: Texas State has added four freshman, Heather Baymon, Saniya Burks, Takeira Ramey, and Melinda Winston.
  • Three of the four freshmen played high school basketball in the state of Texas (Burks, Baymon, Winston) while Ramey is the lone freshmen coming from out of state.
• The Transfers: Texas State has added six transfers, including five Division I transfers. 
  • Ebba Zalamans is the lone Junior College transfer joining the team for 2024-2025, coming from McCook as a redshirt sophomore.
  • Antoine brought in five Division I transfers including Ja'Mia Harris (Kansas State), Destiny Terrell (Incarnate Word), Blake Matthews (Bucknell), Taleiyah Gibbs (Howard), and Mia Galbraith (Oklahoma State).
• The Returners: Antoine returns five members from 2023-2024 to this year's team.
  • There are two 5^th years on the Bobcats roster that have played the entirety of their careers as Bobcats, Nicole Leffand Sierra Dickson.
  • Also returning this season is third year Morgan Hill, second year Crystal Smith and second year Jaylin Foster.

 
ABOUT THE ISLANDERS

• Texas A&M – Corpus Christi finished the 2023-24 season with a 23-9 record, while going 14-4 in conference play and making the NCAA tournament after winning the Southland Conference championship.
• The Islanders are led by 13^th year head coach Royce Chadwick, who is the winningest coach in Southland Conference history.
• Texas A&M – Corpus Christi started their season with a 62-56 win over Texas A&M in College Station.
