SAN MARCOS, Texas – Thursday night will see Texas State (6-3-4, 2-0-2 Sun Belt) close out the first half of Sun Belt Conference play when the team travels to take on Troy (4-5-2, 0-3-1 Sun Belt). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff from the Troy Soccer Complex.

About Texas State
The Bobcats enter Thursday on an eight-match unbeaten streak (4-0-4), tied for the fifth longest in program history, after drawing with Arkansas State last Friday. Six of the contests have come on the road that included two draws against Baylor and then 13th-ranked Oklahoma State. TXST is one of three unbeaten teams left in conference play along with App State and James Madison.
Mady Soumare is tied for first in the Sun Belt with three match-winning goals while her team leading six tallies are tied for the second most in the league.
Sydney Bassa has scored four times this season with three coming from the penalty spot. Finding the back of the net three times has been
Helen Alormenu and
Victoria Meza.
A team leading four assists have been credited to
Kaylie Smith, who scored her first collegiate goal last week, and
Zoe Junior has three assists to her name. Also with two assists on the year are

Caitlyn Draper heads into Thursday's clash with a 0.81 GAA. She leads the Sun Belt with 44 saves and is second with a .863 save percentage. Also seeing action in goal is
Katelyn Chrisman, who has made 11 saves in six contests and nearly 400 minutes of action.
About Troy
The Trojans have dropped two straight and have not won in over a month with their last victory being on Sept. 8 against Southern. Sun Belt play has seen Troy drop matches to Louisiana, Marshall and ULM while playing to a scoreless draw against Georgia State. At home, the Trojans are 2-1-1 with non-conference victories over Eastern Washington and Lipscomb.
Leading the team with three goals is Delaney Wells with two of her tallies being match-winners. Also finding the back of the net multiple times has been Georgia Mulholland with two goals, however she hasn't appeared in a match since playing at Jacksonville on Sept. 12. The only player with more than one assist is Danielle Trovato with four.
Une Georgsen has played in 10 matches and started nine of them in goal. The senior sports a 1.67 GAA with 38 saves and a .717 save percentage with two shutouts. Isabelle Tomeo comes in with seven stops, a .778 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA over 180 minutes spanning three matches, including two starts. She started and played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves int eh 1-0 loss at Louisiana this past Sunday.
Series History
Texas State holds a slim 7-6-1 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, the teams played to a 1-1 draw in San Marcos that saw
Olivia Wright score the opening goal in the 20th minute but Troy tied the contest early in the 74th minute.
When facing the Trojans on the road, the Bobcats are 3-3-0 all-time. The last meeting in Troy came on Oct. 16, 2022 and saw TXST win 2-1 with both of its goals coming in the final seven minutes of the contest.
