KAPOLEI, O'ahu – Texas State's
Sakke Siltala continues to lead the field, sharing the top spot after two rounds at the Kapolei Invitational in O'ahu. The junior's 2-over second round helped the Bobcats to tie for the fourth spot on the team leaderboard with 18 holes to play.
Following a season-best opening round 66, Siltala carded a 74 on the second 18, a total that included three birdies, to sit 4-under heading into the final round.
Jack Burke and
Ben Loveard continued to stay locked next to one another on the individual leaderboard both going 3-over 75 in the second round, good to tie for 20th at 2-over for the tournament.
Joel Talusen went 4-over in the second round to sit tied for 46th at +6, while
Jaxon Donaldson is tied for 65th at 9-over after his +6 second round.
Host Hawai'i and Miami (Ohio) lead the 15-team field at 2-under, while San Diego is four strokes ahead of TXST (+6) at 2-over for third. Utah Tech joins the Bobcats in fourth.
The invite concludes Thursday with a 2 p.m. CT/9 a.m. HT shotgun start. The Bobcats will pair with Utah Tech and Arkansas State.
