KAPOLEI, O'ahu – Sakke Siltala and the Texas State men's golf team posted the low round of the day to lead the 15-team field after round one of the Kapolei Invitational.
As a team, the Bobcats are 6-under 282, the lowest team total for a round to start the 2024-25 season. Utah Valley sits two shots back at -4, while host Hawaii and Arkansas State are tied for third at -3.
Individually, Siltala leads the field by one stroke at 6-under 66, also a low round for the junior this season. The first 18 for the junior included four birdies and his first eagle of the season.
A pair of Bobcats are tied for the 13th spot at 1-under 71 in
Jack Burke and
Ben Loveard, while
Joel Talusen (+2) rounded out the counting scores for TXST.
Jaxon Donaldson sits at +3.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday for round two starting at 2 p.m. CT/9 a.m. HT and are paired with Utah Valley and conference foe Arkansas State.
