Tennis Opens Spring Season With Home Match

Texas State hosts North Florida this Saturday at 1pm

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team kicks off its 2024 spring season with a home match this Saturday at 1pm versus North Florida. 
 
Under then-first year head coach Kendall Brooks, the Bobcats finished the 2023 season with their first eight-win season since 2017. The Bobcats also made it to the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championships for the third time in school history.  
 
Texas State returns nine of its players from last year's squad. Including their top court singles player Kiana Graham, who finished the year with a 10-10 record.  
 
The Bobcats also added graduate transfer Callie Creath. Creath joins the Bobcats after spending four seasons at Tennessee, where she recorded 24 singles wins and 16 doubles wins. She also ended the fall season at Texas State with a singles win at the Wildcat Invite.
 
North Florida is also beginning its season on Saturday. North Florida is coming off a year with an 18-1 overall record and a 7-1 conference record. They have five returners from last year, along with new additions of a graduate transfer and a freshman. 
 
Following the home matchup with North Florida, the Bobcats will take on UTSA at home January 27.
