Day One of Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate Complete for Bobcats

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Texas State men's golf closed out the first round of the Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate in 14that the Mirabel Golf Club. 
 
The Bobcats finished the day 14th, going four-over par in the field of 15 teams. As a team, Texas State recorded 14 birdies.  
 
Auburn holds the lead after shooting 24-under.
 
Tom Roed Karlsen managed a spot inside the top-25 as only one of two Bobcats to finish the day under-par. Karlsen recorded a round of 68 three-under, with the highest number of birdies for Texas State with four. 
 
Jack Burke finished the day one-under 70 with an eagle on hole two, in between bogeys. At the Legend Trail Golf Club, freshman Connor Smith made his collegiate debut with an individual performance of two-under to finish in the top-10. 
 
As the round progressed Terrin Anderson made his way up the leaderboard to end the round three-over 74. Kasper Nyland and Marcelo Garza both tied for 70th shooting five-over 76. The pair both recorded two double-bogeys for the day.
