SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State tennis begins their fall tournament season at the Islander Open in Corpus Christi, Texas from Sept. 8-10.
The three-day tournament hosted by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be played at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center. Action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. each day.
The teams competing at the Islander Open are Abilene Christian, Lamar, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas State, UIW, Utah State and UTRGV.
Kendall Brooks is entering her second season as head coach of the Texas State tennis program. Last season Brooks led the Bobcats to eight wins, the most since 2017. Nine student-athletes return for the 2023-24 season with the addition of graduate transfer
Callie Creath.
