Road Match on Tap for Friday at Georgia State

SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the lone action of the week, the Texas State soccer team (6-3-2, 1-0-2 SBC) travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia State (6-1-3, 2-0-0 SBC) Friday night. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT from the GSU Soccer Complex.

About Texas State
The Bobcats enter the contest on a six-match unbeaten streak after playing to two draws last weekend. It is the first time during the regular season in team history that they have drawn back-to-back matches and just the second time in program history with the first coming in the semifinals and finals of the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
 
Leading the way with three goals are Halle Garcia, Zoe Junior, Mady Soumare and Olivia Wright. The only other TXST player with multiple goals is Victoria Meza with two. She is also tied for the team lead with three assists with Kennley Bradley.
 
Caitlyn Draper continues her hot start to her collegiate career in goal. She leads all freshmen in the nation with a 0.35 GAA and .920 save percentage and overall ranks fourth and 12th, respectively, in the country. The Hutto, Texas native has made 23 saves on the year and recorded three solo shutouts.
 
About Georgia State
Entering Friday, the Panthers have won three straight matches including conference victories over Coastal Carolina and ULM last weekend. Their Sun Belt opener at Georgia Southern was postponed due to weather. GSU is 4-1-1 at home this season with the lone loss coming against Ole Miss by a 1-0 score on Sept. 3.
 
Aaliyah Faddoul paces the squad with seven goals, 17 points, 31 shots and 18 shots on goal while ranking second with three assists. The freshman is the reigning league's Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and one assist. Brooke Hart has netted four goals while Elena Diaz and Alondra Nieves has scored three goals apiece. A team-high four assists belong to Jimena Cabrero.
 
Borth Ariana Anderson and Jaddah Foos have played in eight matches and totaled 450 minutes between the posts. Anderson sports a 0.60 GAA with 10 saves and a .769 save percentage. Foos enters with a .846 save percentage, 11 saves and a 0.40 GAA.
 
All-Time vs. Panthers
Texas State leads the all-time series 6-3-1. The last meeting between the teams was on Sept. 19, 2021 in San Marcos. The Bobcats won the contest 1-0 on a goal from Olivia Wright in the 73rd minute. When facing the Panthers on the road, TXST is 1-2-0 with the last match being a 1-0 setback on Oct. 20, 2019. The lone win in the Peach State's capital came on Sept. 18, 2016 behind three unanswered goals in a 3-1 contest.
