SAN MARCOS, Texas – Â
Jessica Mullins was awarded another postseason honor on Thursday afternoon, she was named to the NFCA All-South Team.The junior has been named to an NFCA All-Region team in each of her three years as a Bobcat. She was named to the South Region Third Team.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the NFCA's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

Mullins had another outstanding year for the Texas State Bobcats. She had 39 appearances for the Bobcats where she pitched 17 complete games with a 1.94 ERA through the 191.1 innings pitched. She struck out 168 batters this season.

"You can't talk about Texas State softball at any point in the year without Mullins being part of it," said head coach
Ricci Woodard. "She is a player that with her pitching gives you a chance to win ball games."

Mullins was also named to the 2023 Sun Belt Conference First-Team, her third time being named to that award in her career. She was named to the 2023 Sun Belt Conference All Tournament Team and is a six time Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week.Â

She was a pivotal part in the Bobcats run to being selected as an at-large bid to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. She pitched key wins over Texas and Alabama while finishing the season with a 21-11 record on the season.Â

Mullins and the rest of the Bobcats will start their run in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow, May 19
th, at the Austin Regional. The Bobcats will face Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. (CT).
