SAN MARCOS, Texas – With Texas State tennis back in the win column, they welcome Northwestern State to the Bobcat Tennis Complex for their lone match of the weekend on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.
Texas State (2-5) ended their five-match losing streak when they picked up their second win of the season after defeating Stephen F. Austin 6-1 and sweeping the singles, where four Bobcats won their matches in straight sets. This was the first time this season that Texas State finished with more than four match points.

Andrea Pineda have a two-match win streak going into the match against Northwestern State. The Bobcats have not won the doubles point since its season opener at Sam Houston and have won just five doubles matches overall.
Northwestern State (5-1) is riding a five-match win streak following a season opening loss at TCU. The Lady Demons have swept Xavier (Louisiana) and LSU-Shreveport. Dorota Szczygielska earned the Southland Conference Player of the Week honor in February after clinching the win over Jackson State and Southern Miss. In singles, Szczygielska is 4-1 combined on courts four and five. Tjasa Klevlsar is on a five-match win streak on the top two courts. The Szczygielska and Renske Ubachs duo hold a 5-1 record on line three for doubles.
The Lady Demons hold the all-time series record 11-7 over the Bobcats and Texas State is 3-7 against Northwestern State at home.
The matchup on Sunday will be the third of the Bobcats seven-match homestand.
