SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team (3-0) returns to action for a three-game series against Oral Roberts (4-1) this weekend. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Bobcat Ballpark followed by a 2:30 p.m. start on Saturday and the series finale begins on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Games on Saturday and Sunday will be streamed on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman and Ty Harrington on the call. The contest on Saturday can be heard on KTSW 89.9 FM while for Friday's game, fans can tune into the ORU Sports Network at the link provided.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The first weekend of the season saw Texas State set records for runs in a series (56) and home runs in a game (8) while
Chase Mora set an NCAA record as he became the first player to ever hit a homer in his first three plate appearances. It was also the first time that the Bobcats had won its first three games of a season since 2016 and swept the opening weekend since 2010.

As a team, the Bobcats are hitting .437 to rank second in the nation behind Virginia (.446).
Cade Manning paces the team with an .800 average that is tied atop the national rankings and is second with a .899 OBP. Shortstop
Davis Powell comes in leading the country with 1.67 doubles per game while
Ryan Leary and Powell are tied for second in runs per game at 2.67.

Jose Gonzalez is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after hitting .700 (7-for-10) with two doubles, two homers, four runs and nine RBI. Also hitting two round trippers on the weekend was
Daylan Pena (8 RBI) and
August Ramirez (3 RBI).

Otto Wofford is the lone TXST hurler to appear in more than one game as he retired the final batter in both the first and third games against Northwestern. Both
Cameron Bush and
Jack Stroud have struck out three coming out of the pen.

ABOUT ORAL ROBERTS
The Golden Eagles began their season with a four-game sweep of Northern Illinois before falling on Wednesday to Missouri State with all five contests coming at home. They were picked to finish first in the Summit League preseason poll.

Jonah Cox comes in with a team-high .438 batting average and four doubles while Max Hogan has team bests of four homers and 12 RBI. Mac McCroskey, the reigning Summit League Player of the Week, is hitting .381 with three round trippers, seven RBI and two steals. Also batting over .300 is Jake McMurray (.316) and Justin Quinn (.333).

Slated to start on the rubber Friday is Jakob Hall, who is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and six strikeouts. Harley Gollert comes in with five strikeouts and 1.80 ERA and earned a win will start on Saturday. The series finale sees Brooks Fowler get the ball as he has yet to allow an earned run in five innings of work.

SERIES VS. GOLDEN EAGLES
This weekend will be the first-ever meeting between Texas State and Oral Roberts. The Golden Eagles are the second of six teams this season that the Bobcats will play this season for the first time in program history. Along with Northwestern last week, other first-time foes will be Grand Canyon and Sun Belt newcomers Marshall, Old Dominion and Southern Miss.
