Texas State Hosts TXST Classic for Final Weekend of Homestand

SAN MARCOS, Texas – After a three-win weekend in the I-35 tournament, Texas State softball stays home for the Texas State Classic this weekend.

Texas State will open the tournament with a double header versus UTSA and UT Arlington. The first game of the weekend will be Thursday, Feb. 23 at 2 pm.
Through 10 games played so far this season Texas State has not allowed more than five runs to be scored against them in a single game. Additionally, the Bobcats already have one run-rule victory from its 9-0 win against Lamar on Feb. 16. In last weekend's I-35 tournament, the Bobcats went 3-2 with a win over Lamar and two over South Dakota State.

The Bobcats have 66 hits this season and average 6.6 hits per game, led by a season-high 10 hits in the Bobcats 9-0 win over Lamar.

Two of this weekend's games will be broadcast on ESPN+, the Bobcats double header on Thursday versus UTSA and UTA. Additionally, three of the Bobcats games will have radio calls on KTSW 89.9. There will be live stats available for all 13 games of the tournament.

This is the Bobcat's final home tournament of the season. They will close out the slate of tournaments for the season next week at the Owl Classic in Florida and at the Bevo Classic in Austin March 10-12.
