FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Texas State men's 4x400 relay set a new school record – for the second time this year – and
Bervensky Pierre and
Sedrickia Wynn posted some of the fastest times in school history in the 200 meter dash as the Bobcats wrapped up the Tyson Invitational on Saturday.
The Bobcats' 4x4 relay, consisting of
Brian West,
Taahir Kelly,
Bervensky Pierre and
Dominick Yancy, ran 3:06.48 to finish fifth in the event and break the previous school record by nearly two seconds. It was the third time this season a Texas State men's 4x400 relay ran a sub-3:10 – a threshold that stood in program history for 37 years.
Wynn, a day after running top-three times in school history in the women's 60 meter and 60 meter hurdles, ran 23.52 in the women's 200 to post the third-fastest time in that event as well. She now owns two of the top three fastest times in program history in that event.
In the men's 200, Pierre ran 21.26 to match teammate
Ashton Callahan for the eighth-fastest time in school history. So far this indoor season, Pierre has ran the third, fifth and now eighth fastest times by a Bobcat in the event.
Next up for the Bobcats is the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 20-21.
