SAN MARCOS, Texas – Off to the best start in program history, the Texas State soccer team looks to continue their winning ways on the road on Sunday. The Bobcats (5-0-0) travel to take on North Texas (4-1-0) at the UNT Soccer Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.

Pacing TXST with three goals, all of them match-winners, is
Zoe Junior. Her match-winning goal total leads the Sun Belt Conference and tied for first in the nation. Both
Madi Goss and
Bailey Peschel have found the back of the net twice. An assist has been credited to
Addison Peters,
Haley Shaw,
Avery Thies,
Mya Ulloa Olivia Wright and Goss.
Katelyn Chrisman has started four matches between the posts and comes into the match with a 0.50 GAA. She has made six saves and sports a .750 save percentage.
About North Texas
The Mean Green won their first four matches of the season before falling 3-2 to Oklahoma on Thursday. Victories this year have been over Abilene Christian, Houston Baptist, Oral Roberts and Stephen F. Austin.
Leading UNT with five goals is Olivia Klein. Both Kat Burnell and Madi Drenowatz have found the back of the net four times. Leading the team with five assists is Taylor Tufts, who has recorded one in each match this year.
Starting all five matches in goal has been Dani Jacobson. The freshman sports a 1.00 GAA with 11 saves and a .688 save percentage.
All-Time Series
The all-time series has seen the Mean Green win all nine matches. Sunday will be the sixth contest to take place in Denton. Last time the teams met was Feb. 28, 2021 in San Marcos that ended 1-0. The closest match on the road came on Sept. 5, 2001 that ended 2-1. It was the only time the Bobcats have scored on the road.
