SAN MARCOS, Texas- Texas State (4-7, 1-1) is set to host Liberty (10-4, 0-0) for their homestand finale on Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at the Bobcat Tennis Complex, as the teams meet for the first time in program history.
The Bobcats
Texas State is fresh off a win against Gonzaga, their first win at home and earning the doubles point for the second time this season.
Hana Kvapilova is on a three-match win streak in No. 1 singles, and won her first doubles match with
Kate Malazonia, 6-3 against Gonzaga.
Kate Malazonia clinched the second win of the season for the Bobcats with her 6-1, 6-7 (8-10), 7-6 (7-2) singles win on line two.
The Eagles
Liberty is set to face their second school in the state of Texas within four days. In their latest match they beat UTSA 4-0 in San Antonio.
Two of the four losses on their record were the first two matches of the season against Minnesota and Toledo.
The Eagles are 6-0 at home and 4-4 on the road.
Juliana Romero is 4-1 in singles at line one, she pairs with Tiffany Nguyen in doubles on line one where they are on a five-match win streak.
Last season the Eagles were 18-7 overall, and 6-0 in the Big East Conference.
