Tennis Home Opener Rescheduled Due to Weather, Bobcats Face TCU on the Road Next

SAN MARCOS, Texas- Women's tennis home opener against Sam Houston set for Friday, Feb. 25 will be rescheduled due to inclement weather, the Bobcats (2-5) will be on the road for their next matches against TCU (7-3) Saturday, Feb. 26

Texas State was scheduled to open home play this Friday at 12 p.m. against Sam Houston, but has been rescheduled for March 11, at 12 p.m.

This will be the 25th meeting for Texas State and TCU, dating back to 1976. TCU has won all the matches, with the last one taking place in 2018 in San Marcos where the Horned Frogs won 4-1.

The Bobcats
Texas State is coming off a 0-7 loss at Rice.

Hana Kvapilova has been on a hot streak in singles, winning the No. 1 flight at Northwestern State 6-4, 6-2. Kvapilova and Maria Lora were the only Bobcats to win their singles matches against Louisiana Tech.

The Bobcats have struggled on the double's courts recently with their last two matches going 0-3 in doubles, and weather not allowing for them at Northwestern State.

The Horned Frogs
TCU is currently 7-3 overall, going undefeated at home so far this season. The Horned Frogs two recent losses are from Alabama, 0-4, and No. 9 Texas A&M, 2-5. Their latest match was a 4-0 win against Stephen F. Austin.

Last season TCU was 9-13 overall, and 3-6 in the Big 12 Conference.

The Bobcats have the chance to end the Horned Frogs seven-match home winning streak when they meet Saturday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
