Box Score HOUSTON- Texas State women's tennis (2-5) falls 0-7 to Rice (4-1) in Houston.
 
Singles
Fifth-year senior Hana Kvapilova faced Victoria Smirnova in flight No. 1, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8), she was the only Bobcat to win a set of the matchup against Rice. 
 
Kate Malazonia faced off against Federica Trevisan in the No. 2 flight, but lost the match 6-3, 6-1.
 
Freshman Sofia Fortuno battled back in the No. 4 match against Anna Bowtell, 6-0, 6-4. Fellow freshman Maria Lora went 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 5 flight against Maria Budin.
 
Doubles
Mae McCuthceon and Jadeh Chan finished their doubles match first with a 6-1 loss against Saara Orav and Allizon Zipoli. Fortuno and Lora's 6-2 loss clinched the doubles point for Rice. Kate Malazonia and Kvapilova's match went unfinished.
