Women’s Basketball ink Coleman, Steele as part of latest signing class

SAN MARCOS, TX — Texas State women's basketball head coach Zenarae Antoine and the Bobcat coaching staff have announced the additions of forward Julia Coleman and guard Emillia (Emi) Steele as members of the program's latest signing class. 

"I am so excited that Julia and Emi are joining our Bobcat family," Antoine said. "They both bring versatility, athleticism, and a positive work ethic to our program. They are great Bobcat signees, because they are great basketball players and phenomenal young women who came from families that hold similar values as our program and university. It's a great day to be a Bobcat!"

Julia Coleman | 6'0" | Forward | St. Louis, Missouri

Coleman was an all-state selection under head coach Kat Martin at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis, Missouri … she was also a first-team all-district selection as well as the district's co-most valuable player … a St. Louis All-Metro Third-Team selection … played for Coach Larry Sutton of the Missouri Phenom EYBL on the AAU circuits … her cousin, Patrick Chew, is currently a freshman in the Murray State men's basketball program

Emillia (Emi) Steele | 5'10" | Guard | Euless, Texas

Steele, during her time at Colleyville Heritage, has been named a three-time first-team all-district selection as well as newcomer of the year, offensive most valuable player and most valuable player … ranked as the No. 25 prep women's basketball player in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Prep Girls Hoops … ranked No. 44 within the state of Texas in the Class of 2023, according to Premier Basketball … she also participated with the Higher Goals club basketball organization, which won the Tournament of Champions, under Coach Wayne Watts
