EL PASO, TX. — After missing the last two Texas State women's basketball games, fifth-year senior
Da'Nasia Hood returned to the floor for head coach
Zenarae Antoine Saturday night and showed why the San Antonio native is a three-time all-conference performer.
Hood, a 6-foot-1 forward, turned in a season-high 28 points on 12-of-22 shooting (54.5 percent) and pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds, which also tied her career high she set back against UTA on Jan. 22, 2022. The January game against the Mavericks was also part of a stretch of seven consecutive games with 20-or-more points last season, which was the last time Hood has scored 20-or-more points in consecutive games played.
Saturday's performance at UTEP was also Hood's first double-double since scoring a career-high 33 points and pulling down 13 rebounds in Texas State's postseason conference tournament win against South Alabama on March 2, 2022.
Hood's performance was also part of a pair of double-doubles for Texas State (3-1) that also saw
Kennedy Taylor finish with 10 points and 10 assists, marking the first time the Bobcats finished a game against a Division I opponent with multiple double-doubles since Jan. 15, 2022, when the Hood (26 points, 14 rebounds) and Taylor (15 points, 10 assists) accomplished the feat at Georgia State.

- Da'Nasia Hood nearly accomplished the feat, too, but fell an assist short.
- By holding UTEP to only nine points during the second quarter, it marked the sixth time this season the Bobcat defense has held an opponent to single digits during a quarter.
- Texas State held Arlington Baptist to single digits in three of the four quarters played earlier this week after limiting Howard Payne's offense to single digits in two of four quarters nearly two weeks ago.
- Through four games this season, sixth-year senior Tianna Eaton has already connected on 29 field goal attempts and eight 3-pointers, both season highs for the third-year Bobcat.
