Box Score Nacogdoches, Texas- Texas State women's tennis (1-2) earned a 4-3 victory with a deciding last match over Stephen F. Austin (0-1) on day one of matches on Friday.
 
Doubles
Mae McCutcheon and Sofia Fortuno in the No. 2 doubles fell 6-3 in their match. Jadeh Chan and Maria Lora were the doubles point deciding match in the No. 3 match with a 6-4 loss against Ladyjacks Anastassia Kouchnareva and Elena Bleicher. 
 
Shining in Singles
Texas State earned the victory over SFA with McCutcheon securing the fourth singles match point at No. 3 in the last match to wrap up against Lucy Furness with a back-and-forth score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. Hana Kvapilova got the first singles win of the day with her straight-set 6-3, 6-3 win over Ladyjack Paula Cerda. Kate Malazonia battled Nyah Kauders and won the No. 2 singles match with a close 7-6, 6-4 win. Lora went 6-2, 6-3 in her No. 5 singles win against Zala Ule.
