Women’s Tennis Suffers Shutout at No. 1 Ranked Texas

Box Score Austin, Texas- Texas State women's tennis (0-2) suffers a 7-0 shutout against the No. 1 ranked Longhorns (1-0) Sunday at the Texas Tennis Center. The Bobcats face their second loss of the weekend in Austin.
 
Doubles
Kate Malazonia and Jadeh Chan in Texas State's No. 2 doubles team went 4-3 with Texas' Allura Zamarripa and Bella Zamarripa. Bobcats Hana Kvapilova and Sofia Fortuno were the No. 1 doubles team with a great 6-1 loss against Peyton Stearns and Charlotte Chavatipon. Mae McCutcheon and Maria Lora were the deciding doubles point in their 6-0 loss to Longhorns Sabina Zeynalova and Vivian Ovrootsky. 
 
Singles
McCutcheon faced Ovrootsky in a close match that resulted in a 7-5, 6-2 loss in the No. 3 singles. Kvapilova lost the No. 1 singles against Stearns in a 6-1, 6-3 match. Malazonia in the No. 2 singles with Chavatipon saw a 6-2, 6-0 loss, and Lora saw a patterned 6-2, 6-2 loss against No. 117-ranked Malaika Rapolu.

The Bobcats return to action Jan. 28 and 29 to compete against Stephen F. Austin and Jackson State in Nacogdoches, Texas.
