Women’s Tennis Team Travels to Texas A&M and Texas

SAN MARCOS, Texas- The Texas State women's tennis team opens its season when the Bobcats travel to No. 14 Texas A&M on Jan. 22 and No. 1 Texas on Jan. 23.
 
The Bobcats will play the Aggies at the Mitchell Tennis Center starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. Texas State continues their weekend road trip by battling the Longhorns in Austin at the Texas Tennis Center at 3 p.m. Sunday.
 
Texas State enters the Texas A&M match coming off three tournaments in the fall, including the ITA Texas Regional Championships. 
 
LOOKING AT TEXAS A&M AND TEXAS
Texas A&M is entering the contest with a 2-0 winning record, winning 7-0 in both. Texas has remained No.1 in the latest Division I Women's ITA Collegiate Coaches Poll after a travel-heavy fall season. 
 
LOOKING AT THE BOBCATS
Texas State welcomed some new faces to the program this season, with two freshmen and four transfers. Hana Kvapilova advanced to the Round of 16 in the main draw at the ITA Texas Regional Championships with two victories in singles and finished the Texas State Play Day Tournament with a 3-0 singles record. Chacadyah Israel-Lewis finished 2-0 in doubles play, along with winning a first-round singles match at the Texas State Play Day.
