Bobcats and Panthers Face Off Sunday Afternoon

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Riding a three-match winning streak, the Texas State soccer team (4-2-1, 1-0-0 Sun Belt) closes out its three-match homestand on Sunday against Georgia State (6-2-1, 1-0-0 Sun Belt). Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
 
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman on the call. An audio broadcast will be available on KTSW 89.9 FM along with live stats.
 
Goals2Cure
This season's Goals2Cure initiative sees the Bobcats raise funds for each goal scored at home and shirts sold. The proceeds will be donated to Ovarcome. Fans are also encouraged to donate directly at this link.
 
About Texas State
The Bobcats are coming of a 2-1 victory over Coastal Carolina on Thursday with the winning goal coming with a second left in the first overtime period from Trinity Clark. Netting the match-tying goal in the 56 minute was Bailey Peschel, the first of the season for her. Mya Ulloa assisted on both goals and is the third player in the last two matches to have a two-assist contest, joining Haley Shaw and Kamaria Williams who did so against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
 
Leading the team with two goals apiece are Kiara Gonzales, Madison Humphrey, Clark and Ulloa. Gonzales and Williams have been credited with three assists while Peschel, Shaw and Ulloa have assisted on two tallies.
 
Beth Agee comes into the match leading the Sun Belt Conference with a .886 save percentage. She has made 31 saves, sports a 0.78 GAA and two shutouts.
 
About Georgia State
The Panthers arrive in San Marcos unbeaten in their last six matches (6-0-1). They are coming off a conference opening 3-1 win at Louisiana on Thursday. On the road, GSU is 2-1-1 this season.
 
Brooklyn Fugel comes in with a team-high four goals, nine points and eight shots on goal. Also finding the back of the net two times this season has been Jimena Cabrero, Gracen Crosby, Kelsee Holloway, Maddie Johnston and Grace Kiser.
 
Maria Subies has appeared in seven matches in goal with a 1.27 GAA, 21 saves and a .724 save percentage. Jaddah Foos comes in with a 1.99 GAA, eight saves and a .615 save percentage over four contests between the posts.
 
All-Time Series
Texas State leads the all-time series 5-3-1. The Panthers won the last meeting 1-0 on Oct. 20, 2019 in Atlanta. The last time the teams met in San Marcos was on Oct. 19, 2018 and ended in a 1-1 draw with the tying goal being scored by Kaylee Davis in the 82nd minute.
 
Last time the Bobcats defeated GSU came on Sept. 15, 2017 on the road by a 3-1 score while the last victory at the Bobcat Soccer Complex was also a 3-1 score line on Sept. 18, 2018.
 
TXST is 3-0-1 all-time when hosting the Panthers.
