Bobcats Travel to Face Lumberjacks

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team reaches the midpoint of its opening five-match road swing to open the season on Sunday. The Bobcats (1-0-1) face Stephen F. Austin (0-2-1) for a 1 p.m. kickoff at the SFA Soccer Field.
 
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available.
 
About Texas State
TXST is coming off a 2-1 come from behind victory in the season opener at Incarnate Word and a 1-1 draw at Prairie View A&M. Finding the back of the net was Trinity Clark, Madison Humphrey and Mya Ulloa. Credited with an assist in each match was Kiara Gonzales and both Bailey Peschel and Olivia Wright have an assist apiece.
 
Beth Agee got the start and made six saves against the Cardinals to up her career save total to 93. Katelyn Chrisman played all 110 minutes between the posts against the Panthers and made two stops in her first career start.
 
About Stephen F. Austin
The Lumberjacks are coming off a 4-4 draw Thursday night at Houston that saw each team score three goals in the second half. SFA opened the season with a 7-0 loss at home to then No. 8 TCU and followed with a 2-0 setback at then No. 22 Rice.
 
Thursday was the first time that the Lumberjacks had scored this season with goals coming from Jayme Bailey, Lily Hargrove, Teia Haynes and Mattie Musser. Credited with the lone assist of the night was Carly Wyatt.
 
Madeline Talbot has played all 290 minutes in goal. The senior has allowed 13 goals for a 4.03 GAA while making 19 saves for a .549 save percentage.
 
All-Time Series
SFA leads the all-time series 13-12-2. The last three meetings, two of which have gone to double overtime, and seven of the last nine have gone in the Lumberjacks' favor.
 
Of the previous 13 contests between the teams, 12 have been decided by a goal. The lone exception was TXST's last win in the series which came on Sept. 13, 2015, by a score of 4-0 in Nacogdoches. When playing on the road, the Bobcats are 3-7-2 all-time.
