SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State will wrap-up its seven-match home streak against Prairie View A&M at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 5 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. They will then hit the road to open Sun Belt Conference play against Arkansas State at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 7 at the A-State Tennis Complex in Jonesboro, Ark.
The Bobcats (3-3) are led by senior
Hana Kvapilova who is 5-1 overall in singles play and boasts a 4-0 record on the top singles court this dual season. The tandem of Kvapilova and senior
Rishona Israel-Lewis lead the Bobcats in doubles action with a 4-1 record and have won three consecutive matches. Senior
Andrea Fuchs is on a four-match winning streak and is 4-1 overall this spring in singles.
The Panthers (1-11) are coming off a 4-1 victory against SWAC conference member Jackson State. The win snapped an 11-match losing streak, including a 0-9 start in road matches.
The Red Wolves (1-3, 0-1 Sun Belt) opened its conference schedule with a 4-0 loss at home against UT Arlington on Wednesday, March 3. Their lone win on the season was a 4-2 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Feb. 27. Sophomore Thea Rice leads A-State in singles with a 2-1 record this spring and is 2-0 on the top doubles court with partner, freshman Nejla Zukic. Sunday's match against the Bobcats will be Arkansas State's first road match this spring.
