SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (4-10-1) travels up I-35 to face Texas (4-5-0) Friday night at 7 p.m. at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field.
 
The match will be televised on the Longhorn Network and can also be streamed on the ESPN app. Live stats will also be available for the match.
 
LAST MATCH
Texas State battled North Texas but ultimately fell 1-0 to the Conference USA perennial power. Despite being outshot, the Bobcats defense held the Mean Green to just six shots on goal.
 
Beth Agee made four saves to give her 75 on the season. She is the NCAA Division I leader and her total is now the eighth most by a Bobcat goalkeeper in a season.
 
Leading the team in goals is Kiara Gonzales and Emma Jones with two apiece. Other players to have scored are Alana Clark, Ally Kewish, Bailey Peschel, Karlee Torisk and Olivia Wright.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS
Texas only played conference matches in the Fall. The Longhorns hosted the NWSL's Houston Dash in an exhibition match this past Sunday in preparation to the start of the Spring schedule.
 
Scoring a team-high two goals has been Haley Berg, Cameron Brooks, Presley Echols and Julia Grosso. Both Berg and Echols pace UT with two assists apiece.
 
In goal, Savannah Madden started all nine Fall matches. She sports a 1.00 GAA with 36 saves and a .800 save percentage.
 
ALL-TIME VS. LONGHORNS
Texas has won the previous three meetings with Texas State. The last matchup came on Sept. 7, 2018 in Austin that saw the Bobcats fall 2-1. Kaylee Davis scored the opening goal of the contest in the 16th minute to put the Longhorns behind for the first time that year.
 
The lone meeting to not take place in Austin was on Oct. 21, 2014. It took place in San Marcos and saw the Longhorns come away with a 2-0 victory.
