SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State tennis program is scheduled to face Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, and then UTRGV at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex in San Marcos.
 
The Bobcats (0-1) had a singles victory by senior Hana Kvapilova who picked up two wins overall after she and senior Rishona Israel-Lewis took a 6-4 match on doubles court No. 1 in last weekend's 6-1 setback against Houston.
 
TXST will challenge the Ladyjacks (3-1) who will be playing in their fourth and fifth road match this weekend. All of their wins were 4-0 decisions against Jackson State (Jan. 30), Alcorn State (Jan. 30), and Grambling State (Jan. 31). They did suffer a 4-3 loss to Louisiana Tech on Jan. 31 in Ruston, La.
 
The Vaqueros (0-2) opened their dual season with 6-1 losses against Lamar and Tarleton State last weekend in Edinburg, Texas. Freshman Isabelle Bahr accounted for both team's points as she is 2-0 on the top singles court. She and classmate Valeria Montero are 1-1 in doubles play.
 
The Ladyjacks and Vaqueros will play each other at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 in San Marcos.
