Box Score SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (3-3) gets back to .500 with a 5-2 victory over Southwestern (2-2) Saturday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. The Bobcats are now on a two-match winning streak.
 
Seniors Rishona Israel-Lewis and Hana Kvapilova blanked sophomores Alli Ziehm and Nina Mitrfanova 6-0 on the top doubles court, and sophomore Chacadyah Israel-Lewis and senior Andrea Fuchs defeated senior Mariana Quetzerei and sophomore Emma Kesterson 6-2 on court No. 3 to win the doubles point for the Bobcats.
 
The home team kept that same energy in singles as they sealed the match with wins on courts No. 5, No. 3, No. 1, and No. 2, in that order. Senior Sofia Murcia-Rodriguez turned in her first singles win of the season by defeating sophomore Taylor Despriet 6-1, 6-2 in the fifth flight, and Fuchs extended her singles winning streak to four with a straight set victory over Kesterson, 6-2, 6-3 on court No. 3. Kvapilova clinched the match for the Bobcats with her fourth consecutive singles win, handing Mitrofanova a 6-2, 6-4 loss on the top singles court. Graduate Nikita Pradeep added extra insurance with a 6-3, 6-3 win over senior Esther Bowers on court No. 2.   
 
Texas State will complete its seven-match home stand in a contest against Prairie View A&M at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 5 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
