Box Score SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (2-3) defeated Tarleton State (3-6), 4-3 on Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex led by senior Hana Kvapilova's two wins.
 
The Bobcats claimed the doubles point after Kvapilova and senior Rishona Israel-Lewis defeated junior Jemi Aguilar and freshman Martha Makantasi 6-1 on the top doubles court, and sophomore Chacadyah Israel-Lewis and graduate Nikita Pradeep defeated freshmen Celia Vaudiau and Rose Watanabe 6-2 on court No. 3.  
 
Texas State went on to win the first three singles points to clinch, although the teams played out the full match. Kvapilova opened singles with a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 victory over junior Mihaela Codreanu, and sophomore Renata Gonzalez blanked Watanabe, 6-0, 6-0 on court No. 6 for the second singles win. Senior Andrea Fuchs sealed the match by defeating sophomore Faustine Palatte 6-1, 6-3 on court No. 4.   
 
Texas State will end the weekend vs. Southwestern at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
