SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (9-2) wraps up its non-conference slate on Wednesday when it travels to take on #13/#14 Houston (10-2) at 7 p.m. at the Fertitta Center.

BOBCATS UNDEFEATED HOMESTAND
The Bobcats completed an undefeated four-game homestand on Saturday with a 75-36 win over Paul Quinn. TXST also claimed victories over Denver (71-58), Lamar (67-47) and Southwestern (101-54).
BLOCK FEST
With 14 blocks on Saturday against Paul Quinn, Texas State set a new program record in a game and breaking the previous mark was 11 rejections on Dec. 11, 2005 against St. Edward's. Six different Bobcats recorded a block on Saturday led by a career-high five from
Nighael Ceaser. Small matched his career best with four rejections and
Nate Martin added two. Also credited with a block was Brand Love,
Tyrel Morgan and Harrell
LOOKING AT THE BOBCATS
Leading the way for the Bobcats offensively is
Caleb Asberry at 13.9 ppg while shooting 45.3% from the field and has made a team-high 22 three-pointers. Also averaging double-figures in scoring is
Mason Harrell (10.6) and
Isiah Small (11.0). In addition, Small leads the team in rebounding at 7.2 per game.
SCOUTING HOUSTON
Houston has won its last two games after suffering a one-point loss at Alabama on Dec. 11. The Cougars are 7-0 this season when playing at home. Marcus Sasser leads the team with 18.1 ppg with 43.9 FG% and is shooting 43.6% from beyond the arc with 41 made three-pointers. Kyler Edwards (12.3), Fabian White, Jr. (10.4) and Mark Tramon (10.1) are all averaging double-figures in scoring.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be the 16th meeting between the programs that sees Houston lead the series 13-2. Last time the teams met was Dec. 4, 2019 in Houston with the Bobcats falling 68-60 behind a team-high 17 points from Nijal Pearson. TXST is winless when playing the Cougars on the road with Saturday being the 10th game in the Space City.
Only wins for the Bobcats in the series came in San Marcos. The first was a 68-59 game on Dec. 9, 2002 and the second victory was an 81-78 contest that took place Dec. 6, 2011.
