Weekend Concludes with Match at Appalachian State

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State wraps up its weekend road trip on Sunday with a match at Appalachian State. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. CT at the Appalachian Soccer Stadium.
 
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available.

About Texas State
The Bobcats dropped a 1-0 contest to Georgia Southern on Friday in overtime. It was the Bobcats' third overtime time match of the season. Madison Humphrey came off the bench and took five shots in just over 30 minutes of action.
 
Kiara Gonzales continues to lead TXST with four goals while Mya Ulloa has a team-high five assists. The duo has combined to have 70 shots with 31 being on frame. Credited with three assists apiece are Bailey Peschel, Kamaria Williams and Gonzales.
 
Beth Agee started in goal on Friday and made six saves. The sophomore now has a 1.20 GAA with 44 saves and a .800 save percentage. Katelyn Chrisman has played in four contests and sports a 1.18 GAA, 14 saves and a .737 save percentage.
 
About Appalachian State
The Mountaineers have dropped five consecutive matches after fall 1-0 on the road to Troy on Thursday. APP has also lost to Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and South Alabama in Sun Belt Conference play. At home, the Mountaineers are 2-4-0 with victories over UNC Asheville and USC Upstate.
 
Breckyn Monteith leads APP with four goals, 17 shots and 12 shots on goal. Carly Lantz and Kirsten Seeley have found the back of the net three and two times, respectively. Sarah Widderich has a team leading five assists, four of which came in non-conference play.
 
In goal, Kerry Eagleston has started all 12 matches and played a total of 1,079:08 minutes. She has allowed 18 goals for a 1.50 GAA while making 67 saves for a .788 save percentage.
 
All-Time Series
Texas State leads the all-time series 4-1-1, won the last three meetings and are undefeated over the last four contests. Last time the teams met saw the Bobcats win 2-0 at home on Oct. 6, 2019 behind an APP own goal and another tally from Renny Moore. The last matchup in Boone was a 1-0 victory with the lone goal coming from Genesis Turman on Oct. 5, 2018.
 
TXST is 1-1-1 all-time when playing the Mountaineers on the road. The lone loss came on Oct. 4, 2015 and ended 5-0, the worst conference loss the Bobcats have suffered since joining the Sun Belt. On Sept. 23, 2016, the teams played to a 1-1 draw as Kassi Hormuth netted the tying goal exactly three minutes into the second half.
