SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State returns to action as they will challenge UTSA in the tennis edition of the I-35 rivalry at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Juniors 
Rishona Israel-Lewis and 
Hana Kvapilova leads the Bobcats (4-4) with 5-3 records in singles play this dual season. R. Israel-Lewis is 7-3 in her last 10 matches overall and Kvapilova is 2-0 when playing on the top singles court. The two are partners in doubles where they boast a 5-1 record this spring after suffering their first loss of the spring at Houston. They are 1-0 when playing against a nationally-ranked opponent. 
 
SCOUTING UTSA
The Roadrunners (5-7) are nursing a four-match losing streak after falling to Rice (6-1) and Houston (4-0) this past weekend. Their longest winning streak this year was in mid-February where they defeated UTRGV (7-0), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4-2), and Louisiana Tech (4-3). Overall, UTSA is 3-4 on the road this year.
 
Sophomore Jasmin Starr leads the team with an 8-1 record in singles on the top court and has won her last five consecutive matches. Senior Kylee Kato (6-2), and freshman Keegan McCain (6-3) follow Starr with six wins apiece. 
 
In doubles action, Starr and McCain are teammates on court No. 1 and have a 7-2 record this year and have dropped the last two decisions after a hot 7-0 start.
