HOUSTON, Texas – Texas State dropped a 7-0 decision against Houston on Saturday at the Winston Tennis Facility.
 
After juniors 
Rishona Israel-Lewis and 
Hana Kvapilova lost their first doubles match of the spring season 6-3, juniors 
Andrea Fuchs and 
Sofia Murcia-Rodriguez put the Bobcats (4-4) on the board with a 6-4 victory on court No. 3 against sophomore Elena Tairyan and freshman Manasi Reddy.  The Cougars (6-4) pulled out the doubles point, however, when senior Mimi Kendall-Woseley and freshman Azul Pedemonti defeated sophomore 
Josefina Cassara and 
Chacadyah Israel-Lewis 7-6 (7-1). 
 
Houston clinched the match with straight set victories on courts No. 4, No. 3, and No. 5 respectively. Both R. Israel-Lewis and C. Israel-Lewis pushed their matches to tiebreakers. R. Israel-Lewis fell 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 11-9 on singles flight No. 1 to Kendall-Woseley, and C. Israel-Lewis fell 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to sophomore Jovana Vukovic on court No. 6.
 
Texas State will return home with a 2 p.m. match on Tuesday, March 3 against UTSA at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
