SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team will complete a five-match road trip when they take on Rice (4-4) at 1 p.m. on Friday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center and Houston (5-3) at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.

The Bobcats looks to get back on track after their four-match winning streak was snapped by Northwestern State, 7-0.Â

Hana Kvapilova leads Texas with a 5-1 record in singles play, including a 2-0 mark when playing on the top court. Her classmate,
Rishona Israel-Lewis is 4-2 in the spring and they are both 8-2 in their last 10 matches dating back to the fall.

Kvapilova and R. Israel-Lewis are 4-0 in the dual season in doubles action and have the best record in the Sun Belt Conference on court No. 1. They are 7-1 overall and have won seven straight matches.Â

SCOUTING RICE
Rice enters the weekend 4-4 overall and coming off a 4-2 loss against No. 18 Arizona State that ended a two-match winning streak. The Owls are 2-0 at home, however, with wins over Lamar (7-0) and Sam Houston State (5-2).

Senior Priya Nezgoda has the team's longest active winning streak at five and 6-2 overall this spring in singles play. Junior Anna Bowtell is right behind her with a 5-1 record in the dual season and has won four consecutive matches.Â

Niezgoda and sophomore Anastasia Smirnova has a 5-2 spring record in doubles to lead the team and are 4-1 when playing on the top court.Â

SCOUTING HOUSTON
Houston is on a three-match winning streak after defeating Brown 6-1, and all five of its wins were at home. During their three-match streak, the Cougars have only loss one set (7-0 vs. Southern, 7-0 vs. SFA).Â

Senior Phonexay Chitdara has won five-in-a-row in singles and boast a 7-1 record this spring. Mimi Kendall-Woseley follows with a 6-2 mark and is on a three-match winning streak. Although absent from the lineup in the last match, sophomore Stephanie Belovukovic is 5-2 in the dual season and has won four consecutive matches.

Chitadra and sophomore Sophie Gerits are 4-1 on the top doubles court for the Cougars, while Kandall-Woseley and freshman Azul Pedemonti are 5-1 on court No. 2 (5-2 overall this spring).
