NATCHITOCHES, La. –Texas State's four-match winning streak was snapped by Northwestern State by the score of 7-0 on Saturday at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
The Lady Braves (4-3) were able to clinch the doubles point when senior Judit Castillo Gargallo and freshman Dorota Szczygilska defeated junior
Andrea Fuchs and freshman
Alyssa Zayat, 6-2. Juniors
Rishona Israel-Lewis and
Hana Kvapilova were leading on the top court 4-3 before doubles were clinched.
The Bobcats (4-2) fell in all of the singles matches and the Lady Demons clinched the match when Castillo defeated Zayat 1-6, 2-6 on court No. 6. Fuchs was able to take one set on court No. 4, but ultimately fell 0-6, 6-3, 3-6 to junior Patrycja Polanska.
Texas State continues its road trip with a pair of matches in Houston next weekend. The Bobcats will play at Rice at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center, and then take on Houston at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
