SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team have a busy week ahead with three matches in as many days. The Bobcats (2-1) rescheduled to play Prairie View A&M (0-9) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the PVAMU Tennis Courts, and will then travel to Louisiana where they will challenge Alcorn State (0-7) at 2 p.m. on Friday and Northwestern State (3-3) at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex in Natchitoches, La.
SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Texas State has won its last two matches and is coming off a dominating 6-1 victory vs. Incarnate Word in its home opener. In that match, the Bobcats swept through the single flights. Junior
Hana Kvapilova lead the Bobcats with a 3-0 record in singles play and is 3-0 in doubles action with classmate
Rishona Israel-Lewis this spring. Along with R. Israel-Lewis is junior
Andrea Fuchs and sophomore
Renata Gonzalez who are all 2-1 in singles.
SCOUTING PRAIRIE VIEW A&M
The Panthers are 0-9 overall this season and are 0-4 against teams in the Texas region, including matches vs. Sam Houston State (1-6), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi twice (0-4, 0-7), and Incarnate Word (3-4).
SCOUTING ALCORN STATE
Alcorn State is also winless this season and are coming off a 4-0 loss at Ole Miss. The Lady Braves will play Northwestern State on Friday before facing Texas State.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN STATE
The Lady Demons is 2-0 this season at home (both vs. LSU-Alexandria) and just knocked off Houston at Houston, 4-3 on Sunday, Feb. 9. NSU's freshman Mariella Minetti is 4-2 on the top singles court this year and seniors Emilija Dancetovic and Ela Iwaniuk have a 3-3 record on doubles court No. 1.
