SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (4-8-1, 4-4-0 Sun Belt) takes on Troy (1-8-1, 1-8-1 Sun Belt) in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Monday. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Will Haskett providing play-by-play and Brad Hauter serving as the analyst. Live stats will also be available for the contest.
Sun Belt Championship Attendance Policy
• All spectators must wear face coverings at all times while inside the facility.
• Spectators are encouraged to be socially distant and spread out within the venue where possible.
• Fans will not have access to the team prior to or after the games.
• Fans will not have access to the field during the championship ceremony. The conference office will set up designated viewing areas for the ceremony.
• Spectators will be encouraged to spread out along the grass areas as well as in the bleachers.
• Foley will mark bleachers for seating and non-seating areas to comply with social distancing requirements.
• Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs to allow for seating along the perimeter of the field.
Goals2Cure
Texas State is putting on its fourth annual Goals2Cure initiative that raises funds in support of women fighting ovarian cancer. TXST is collecting pledges for each goal scored this season with donations going directly to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. To donate, go to the following link:

TXST in Sun Belt Championship
Texas State will be competing in the Sun Belt Championship for the seventh time since joining the league in 2013. The Bobcats are 3-4-3 all-time in the tournament that saw them reach the finals in 2018 and the semifinals in both 2013 and 2014.
Last three matches for TXST has gone the full 110 minutes and end in a penalty kick shootout. The Bobcats come into Monday holding the championship record for consecutive overtime matches, double overtime contest and penalty kick shootouts.
Last Weekend
The Bobcats closed out the regular season with a 3-1 victory over ULM.
Sydney Kammer opened the scoring nearly six minutes into the contest.
Renny Moore netted her first goal of the season and what turned out to be her first career match-winning goal halfway through the 55 minute. Five minutes later,
Karlee Torisk headed in a corner kick from Moore for her first career tally.
Beth Agee recorded eight saves to increase her season total to 69. She continues to lead the nation out of 91 goalkeepers that have seen action this Fall. The Mansfield, Texas product ranks second in program history for saves by a freshman and is ninth in both the TXST career and season saves lists.
Scouting Troy
Troy enters the Sun Belt Championship as the No. 6 seed from the East Division after dropping matches to Georgia Southern (3-1) and Georgia State (1-0) to finish up the regular season. The Trojans' lone victory was a 1-0 contest over Coastal Carolina and they drew 1-1 with the Panthers as both matches took place at home.
Kate Eubanks and Regielly Halldorsdottir have both scored a team-high two goals. Netting a goal apiece has been Sydney Babineaux, Melissa Kuya-Strobel and Mia Tessler. Entering the week with a team best two assists is Alisa Detiefsen while Erin Bloomfield, Babineaux and Kuya-Strobel have been credited with one apiece.
In goal, Lindsey LaRoche started the first nine matches in goal. She sports a 1.38 GAA, 47 saves and a .783 save percentage. Sophomore Gaby Cossette started the regular season finale against GSU where she surrendered three goals and made four saves.
All-Time vs. Trojans
Texas State leads the all-time series 6-4-0 over Troy. Last meeting was on Oct. 25, 2019 in San Marcos with the Trojans heading in a corner kick in the first overtime to claim a 1-0 win. Prior to the loss, the Bobcats had won the previous three meetings.
Previously, the teams have meet three times in the Sun Belt Championship with TXST holding a 2-1 advantage. The Bobcats won 1-0 in 2018 that saw
Kaylee Davis head in the lone goal in the 63rd minute and were victorious 2-1 in 2013. Troy claimed a 1-0 win in 2014 when Mallary Hedden scored 2:10 into the match.
