COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team turned in a huge weekend at the Texas A&M Invitational with six total wins at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The opening day began with two rounds of doubles play where seniors
Hana Kvapilova and
Rishona Israel-Lewis knocked off Texas A&M's Jessica Anzo and Lucia Quiterio, 7-5. The Bobcats claimed two more victories on day one in the singles bracket. Kvapilova got her second win of the day when she topped Texas Tech's freshman Kailey Evans 6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-0.
Chacadyah Israel-Lewis also captured her first singles win of the year by defeating Texas' Gabby Cusano in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
Both of day two's victories came in singles play as R. Israel-Lewis defeated LSU's former All-American and All-SEC performer Eden Richardson in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0.
Nikita Pradeep beat Anne Bowtell of Rice in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (1) for Texas State's second win on Saturday.
The Bobcats concluded the tournament with senior
Andrea Fuchs' straight set victory (6-0, 6-3) against Texas' Simran Kortikere.
Texas State will complete its shortend fall season with a doubleheader at Lamar at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 in Beaumont, Texas.
