HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Junior
Hana Kvapilova picked up wins in doubles and singles play but Texas State (0-1) fell to Sam Houston State (3-1), 5-2 on Sunday at the McAdams Tennis Center.

Rishona Israel-Lewis got the Bobcats off to a good start by defeating junior Sahaja Yamalapalli and junior Karla De La Luz Montalvo 6-4 on doubles court No. 1, but the Bearkats took the doubles points after winning No. 2 and No. 3 by the score of 6-4 and 7-5, respectively. Sam Houston went on to clinch the match by winning singles No. 5, No. 1, and No. 6, in that order.
Kvapilova defeated sophomore Isidora Zivkovic in straight sets on court No. 2 for her second win of the day, and sophomore
Josefina Cassara gave the Bobcats their second point with a come-from-behind victory vs. De La Luz Montalvo on the third singles flight 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Texas State will challenge Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
