ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats enter the weekend set against the Mountaineers off a crushing loss at Texas. Texas State lost 10-0 in six innings in Austin to snap a nine-game winning streak. Despite the overall winning streak ending, TXST is riding a seven-game hot streak in Sun Belt Conference play. Texas State has never lost to Appalachian State in the nine matchups between the two schools.

Sophomore infielder Tara Oltmann ranks first on the team in doubles (eight) and runs batted in (28). She is tied for third among Sun Belt leaders in doubles and sits sixth in runs batted in. She is approaching a career-high in RBI as she brought home 35 runs during her freshman campaign.

Junior infielder Hailey MacKay continues to deliver in the middle of the Bobcat lineup. She ranks second on the team with 22 runs batted in, fourth among regular starters in on-base percentage at .397, and remains disciplined at the plate with 20 walks drawn.

ABOUT APPALACHIAN STATE
The Mountaineers were selected to finish last in the 10-team Sun Belt Conference preseason poll. App has surprised many teams in the early stages of the season and has won each of the four series played in conference this season. Appalachian State has already topped the 2018 win total in both overall and conference games. The Mountaineers secured only four conference victories and 17 total wins last season.

Junior utility player Keri White leads a much-improved App State offense. She boasts team-high figures in batting average (.339), hits (40), runs scored (25), and stolen bases (nine). Freshman infielder Alison Durrence tops the Mountaineers and ranks second among Sun Belt hitters with nine home runs this season.

Junior pitcher Kenzie Longanecker has been sensational in the circle for Appalachian State this season. She has appeared in 20 games, including 15 starts. Longanecker has compiled a record of 14-1 and pitched 12 complete games. The right-hander has hurled 104.2 innings and sports an earned run average of 1.87, which ranks second in the league.

UP NEXT FOR THE BOBCATS
