BRYAN, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team dropped a match-play dual to Texas A&M by a final tally of 5-2 at the Miramont Country Club on Saturday.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH STROM
"It was a great learning experience for everyone," head coach Lisa Strom said. "The golf course was in great shape and Miramont went above and beyond hosting our match. Hats off to the Aggies for how they played. They won three matches handily and that put us behind the eight ball. Courtney Dow was 4-under for the day against Sarah. That is great golf on a long, wet course."

MATCH QUICK HITS
- Sophomore Geraldine Wong supplied the Bobcats with one of the two individual victories. She topped Katie Finley, 3&2, after having a successful day with her fairway woods and hybrids. She converted several key putts and was able to grind out a point.
- Freshman Caitlyn Lindell took care of business in her defeat of Elizabeth Caldarelli, 1 Up. She kept herself in striking distance all day and found a way to pull out the point on the final hole of the round.
- Junior Sasikarn Somboonsup played very well throughout the day and was even through the first 16 holes of action. Her opponent, Brooke Tyree holed a 40-foot chip-in birdie on No. 16 to take the match 3&2 over Somboonsup.
- Senior Anne-Charlotte Mora held the early advantage on Texas A&M's Amber Park but was unable to hold on at the end as Park won 2 Up.
- Senior Sarah White was defeated by Courtney Dean by a final tally of 5&4.
- Junior Sean Yi Yip suffered a 6&5 setback against Ava Schweinteck.
- Freshman Sachika Singh was topped by Chloe Velasco by a count of 4&3.

The Bobcats will travel to McAllen, Texas for the UTRGV Women's Invitational. Texas State enters the tournament as the defending team champions. Play will begin on March 11 and will end on March 12.
