SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's basketball team (9-14, 4-7 Sun Belt) will take on a pair of familiar foes in Arkansas State (9-13, 4-7 Sun Belt) and Little Rock (14-8, 10-1) at Strahan Arena over the weekend. The clash with the Red Wolves will be a rematch of Texas State's last victory, an 85-62 win back on Jan. 19. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 14. TXST's annual Play4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Game will be a tilt against the Trojans at 2 p.m. on Feb. 16.
The Bobcats are amid a season-worst five-game slide after dropping games against Appalachian State (77-56) and at Coastal Carolina (77-70). Texas State has lost seven of the last eight games played since opening the conference slate with three consecutive wins. The lone victory during the stretch came in Jonesboro, Ark. against the Red Wolves.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
During the five-game losing streak, Texas State is shooting 33.9 percent from the floor, averaging 53.6 points per outing and have topped 56 points just once. The Cats are always giving away 16.0 turnovers per game and have been outrebounded on average 40.6-32.2.
Freshman forward
Da'Nasia Hood and freshman guard
Kennedy Taylor are each averaging 10.2 points per game during the last five games to lead the Bobcats. Hood adds 4.0 rebounds per game, while Taylor chips in a team-best 3.6 assists per outing.
In Texas State's loss to Coastal Carolina, senior guard
Toshua Leavitt scored 20 points to move her career scoring output to 1,404 points. She passed former teammate
Taeler Deer for ninth on the program's all-time scoring list.
With a career record at Texas State of 120-123, head coach
Zenarae Antoine is fourth in program history in career victories. She trails Suzanne Fox (174), Judy Rinker (145) and Linda Sharp (138) on the all-time list.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS STATE
The Red Wolves are allowing the most points per game in the conference on the defensive end of the floor, yielding 74.8 points per night. A-St has given up 70-plus points in seven Sun Belt games and 80-plus in four league matchups this season. In the last matchup between the two schools, Texas State tallied 85 points, the most scored by the Bobcats in conference play this season.
Arkansas State is led by sophomore forward Peyton Martin, who averages 14.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. She ranks 11th in the Sun Belt in scoring and 14th in the conference in rebounding. She is one of four players in the Sun Belt to score 20-plus points in seven or more games during the 2018-19 season.
SCOUTING LITTLE ROCK
The Trojans continue to be the class of the Sun Belt Conference and are one of two teams (Troy) to have double-digit victories in league play this year. LR has won eight-consecutive ballgames dating back to a 71-66 loss at Troy on Jan. 19. Little Rock has allowed more than 70 points in a Sun Belt game twice this season, both against Troy. UT Arlington managed 65 points against the Trojans, while no other team has eclipsed 59 points against the vaunted LR defense in a conference game.
The Bobcats will have the unenviable task of trying to contain 2018-19 Preseason Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and senior forward Ronjanae DeGray. She leads the Trojans with 14.3 points on 49.8 percent shooting and 6.2 rebounds a night.
UP NEXT FOR THE BOBCATS
Texas State will travel to the Pelican State for a pair of games against ULM on Feb. 21 and Louisiana on Feb. 23.
