FOLEY, Ala. – The Texas State soccer team (9-7-2, 5-4-1 Sun Belt) takes on Arkansas State (9-5-3, 5-2-3 Sun Belt) in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Foley Sports Complex.

Last Time Out: The Bobcats ended the regular season by splitting two home matches. They started off by falling in overtime 1-0 to Troy before a dominating 3-0 victory over Georgia Southern to clinch a spot in the Sun Belt Championship.
Kaylee Davis netted her 10 career brace and the ninth against a Sun Belt opponent in the win against the Eagles. Also finding the back of the net was
Ally Kewish just two minutes after she entered the match.

Recording their first career assists on Senior Day was
Gabie Jones and
Kalen Sanderfer. Also credited with assists in the match were
Jordan Kondikoff and
Jessica Pikoff.

Heather Martin made three saves apiece in the two matches while
Kathryn Budde made her first career appearance in a conference contest, playing the last 20 minutes against GS and making one stop.

#Goals2Cure: The 2019 season sees head coach
Kat Conner and the Texas State soccer team raise money for the fight against ovarian cancer through the Goals2Cure initiative. Goals2Cure is a charitable initiative whose mission is to promote ovarian cancer awareness and to raise funds in support of women fighting ovarian cancer.

The Bobcats are collecting pledges for each goal scored this season with donations going directly to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. The link to donate is

Scouting Arkansas State: The Red Wolves also split their final two matches of the regular season, both at home. They lost 2-1 to Coastal Carolina and followed with a 1-0 win over Little Rock to clinch the third seed in the conference tournament. ASU is 3-4-2 overall when playing on the road this season with a 2-1-2 mark against Sun Belt opponents.

Sarah Sodoma, an all-conference first team selection, leads the team with eight goals, six assists , 22 points and 56 shots. Sophia Restrepo comes in having scored four times and Dana O'Boye has found the back of the net three times with two being on penalty kicks.

Credited with three assists is Lindsey Brochu. Adding two assists each are Julianna Coates, Hailey Furio, Abigail Glockzin and Abby Harris.

In goal, Megan McClure has started 16 of the team's 17 matches. She comes in with a 0.83 GAA having allowed 14 goals while sports a .816 save percentage with 62 stops. The junior has also recorded seven shutouts.

All-Time vs. Red Wolves: Texas State leads the all-time series 5-3-0 over Arkansas State. The Red Wolves won the regular season meeting 1-0 in Jonesboro, Arkansas with the tally coming from the penalty spot. Prior to the defeat, the Bobcats had won the previous two meetings and five of the last six.

The last win for TXST came on Sept. 30, 2018 at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. Davis found the back of the net twice in the 2-1 contest.

Seven of the previous meetings have been decided by one goal. The lone exception was the first match as Sun Belt opponents on Oct. 27, 2013 that the Bobcats won 3-0 at home.

Tuesday will be the first-ever contest between the programs at the conference tournament.
