SANDESTIN, Fla. – Junior
Alvaro Carol Estrems wrapped up his first Sun Belt Conference Championships appearance by finishing in a tie for ninth at 2-over par 215. The Texas State men's golf team finished in 11
th place at 39-over 891 at the Raven Golf Club to conclude its season.
Estrems carded a 5-over 75 on Tuesday. The highlight of the day for him was back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16.
Posting the lowest score of the day for the Bobcats was
Logan Lockwood. He shot a 3-over 74 behind four birdies with three coming in a four-hole stretch.
Inigo Benaran,
Logan Davis and
Calvin Ross all fired a 6-over 77 in the final round.
Coastal Carolina claimed the No. 1 seed for match play at 7-under par 845 by a 26-stroke margin over Georgia Southern and UT Arlington. Also advancing to the match play portion of the championship as the fourth seed was South Alabama.
The Chanticleer's Morgan Deneen claimed the individual title at 10-under 203. He won by a seven shots over Appalachian State's Tripp Summerlin.
