Monroe, La.  – After winning three of its last five matches, the Texas State women's team opens Sun Belt Conference play with a pair of pod matches against Arkansas State and Louisiana on March 23-24 in Monroe, La. The Bobcats are scheduled to play Arkansas State on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m., and the Louisiana on Saturday at 11 a.m.
 
Texas State enters the Arkansas State match with a 3-9 overall record after splitting a pair of matches in California on March 15-16, and winning two of its three contests on March 3-4.
 
Last week, the Bobcats posted a 4-3 victory over CSUN on March 16 after opening the road trip with a 6-1 loss at San Diego a day earlier. Those two matches came after Texas State defeated Prairie View A&M at the Bobcat Tennis Center on March 3. The Bobcats split two matches in San Antonio with a 4-0 loss at UTSA and a 4-3 victory at Incarnate Word on March 4.
 
Arkansas State, which has a 4-9 overall record, enters Friday's contest after winning its last two matches against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (6-0) on March 7 and against Alcorn State (4-0) on March 20 in Vicksburg, Miss.
 
Louisiana has a 10-6 overall record after dropping at 4-0 decision at Houston on March 12 and a pair of 4-0 victories at Prairie View on March 10. The Ragin' Cajuns had two matches at Jackson State postponed due to weather on March 20.
