IRVING, Texas – Junior Alvaro Carol Estrems recorded a 2-over par 73 on the final day to finish tied for 19^th at the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invitational that took place at the TPF Four Seasons Las Colinas. The Texas State men's golf team ended up tied for ninth with Central Arkansas at 48-over 900.

Estrems struggled early in the first four holes but rebounded with five birdies over the next 12. He posted three birdies on the back nine to card a 73 and shoot an 8-over 221 for the tournament.

Calvin Ross had his best 18 holes of the event as he also posted a 73. The sophomore recorded four birdies on the day with three coming in the final nine holes.

Both Inigo Benaran and Logan Davis fired a 4-over 75 on Wednesday. Benaran finished the tournament in a tie for 36^th at 12-over 225. Davis posted three birdies on the day and finished tied for 59^th along with Logan Lockwood.

The Bobcats shot a 12-over par 296 in the third round, their best of the invitational. Texas State finished ahead of Abilene Christian, Louisiana Tech, Northern Iowa, Utah State and Western Illinois.

Winning the team event was North Texas at 13-over par 865 thanks to a 285 (+1) Wednesday. Coming in second was Rice at 868 (+16) and Illinois State rounding out the top three at 870 (+18).

Taking home the individual crown was the Owls' Mario Carmona at 5-under par 208 following a 68 (-3) in the final round. He beat out Illinois State's David Rauer by two strokes.

Next up for the Bobcats is the Lone Star Invitational hosted by UTSA taking place Mar. 19-20. It will be contested at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
