SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sasikarn Somboonsup carded a career-best 1-under 72 during the first round of play on Monday and the Texas State women's golf team is second of the team leaderboard following the first two rounds of the HBU Husky Invitational, contested at the Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas
 
The Bobcats shot rounds of 294 and 310 for a two-round total of 604 ( 28) and are a 12 strokes back of Sam Houston State (592, 16) for the event lead. The host-Huskies are stroke back of the Bobcats after turning in a 605 ( 29).
 
Somboonsup is tied for third on the individual leaderboard with a 3-over 147, four strokes back of Sam Houston State's Gianti Mahardhika. Somboonsup opened the event with her career-low 1-under 71, which included 13 pars and four birdies. She then rolled in 10 par and two birdie putts to offset four bogeys and a double during round two for a 76. The freshman totaled six birdies on the day, tying for the sixth most in the field.
 
Anne-Charlotte Mora is tied for seventh overall with a 36-hole total of 150 (70-80). She carded a 2-under 70 during the first round for her team-leading seventh round under par this season. She birdied five holes during round one to go along with eight pars. She also counted two birdies during the second round to co-lead the field with seven through 36 holes of competition.
 
TXST seniors Millie Saroha and Raksha Phadke are tied for 20th and 24th, respectively, with totals of 155 and 157. Saroha carded rounds of 80 and 75, while Phadke posted a rounds of 78 and 79. Sarah White is tied for 26th with a 159 (75-84).
 
The Bobcats wrap up the event with a final 18 holes on Tuesday (March 28).
