Women’s Tennis Team Hosts Northwestern State On Saturday

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team looks to win its third dual match of the season when the Bobcats host former conference foe Northwestern State at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. The match is the second of three home matches this weekend after the Bobcats dropped a 4-3 loss against Stephen F. Austin on Friday. Texas State will close the weekend homestand against Louisiana Tech at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
 
Texas State enters the Northwestern State with a 2-1 record this season after opening the spring season with a 4-3 victory over McNeese State on Jan. 29. The Bobcats also recorded a 6-1 victory over Prairie View A&M on Oct. 29.
 
Northwestern State enters Saturday's match looking to win its first road victory of the season. The Demons are 3-3 this season after winning three home matches and falling three times in road matches. Northwestern State's three losses came at LSU, Tulane and SMU. The three wins came against Louisiana, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech.
 
The Bobcats will play its third straight home match this weekend against Louisiana Tech. The Louisiana Techsters are 4-4 this season entering a match at Incarnate Word on Saturday. Louisiana Tech enters the Incarnate Word match looking to rebound from a 4-3 loss at Northwestern State on Feb. 12 after defeating McNeese State by a score of 5-0 on Feb. 11.
 
Following Sunday's match against Louisiana Tech, Texas State plays two more home matches against I-35 rivals Incarnate Word and UTSA before traveling to Rice on Mar. 3. The Bobcats host Incarnate Word at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 and host UTSA at 2 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
